You Are The Rainbow that brightens my Life
You are the Moon and the Stars late at Night
You are the Sunrise at Dawn's early Light
You are the Dark when I turn out the Light
I was looking for salvation
Out on the borderline
Just a humble situation
To ease my weary mind
Maybe just a cabin
In the evergreen pines
Living off the land
Has been a sweet dream of mine

I don't know where I went wrong
But it's been a very long time
Everything was going fine
Until I lost a friend of mine
She was something so heavenly special
So, I tried so hard to tow the line
Then she was gone, and then I moved along
It was a terrible waste of my time

You came along on one fine afternoon
I sang you a song underneath the Blood Moon
Pan pipes and wind chimes, a prelude to Night
The soft silken sounds of a Japanese Kite
An hour before Sunrise I turned on the light
You’re still beside me since we said good night
I lived in a village in a deep River canyon
I saw you and moved closer to where you were standing

I had been flying too high for a landing
Any chance of a touchdown was way too demanding
Then, I felt the peace to surpass understanding

You Are The Rainbow and I am the Sea
I don't even know what has happened to me
You came to my Rescue, then you set me Free
Lost in the Mystery of our Destiny
Now we have come to the end of the ride
Till we meet again out on the other side
So many have left us, so many are gone
It just might be time for us to move along

Now that we come to the end of our song
We bring in the children to come sing along
They will remember way after we're gone
The last days of summer and a simple love song
Down in the Meadow, there's a cool Mountain Spring
The Wind in the Willows and the Birds taking wing
Down in the Hollow, hear the Mockingbird Sing
You Are The Rainbow, will you wear my Ring?
