Douglas Heyes Jr. began his working life as a child actor. Performance gave him an early education in character, rhythm and the practical machinery of entertainment, but his deepest instinct led toward the page. He moved behind the camera and into the long collaborative work of dramatic television—writing, producing and helping shape stories for production.
A writer’s life
From the screen to a wider body of work.
His television writing includes Farscape, Hunter, Cover Up, The Fall Guy, Silk Stalkings and Pacific Blue. Television became one chapter in a much larger creative life. Screen projects, treatments, books, plays, poems, songs and performance ideas followed—some finished, some revised across years, some still waiting for the right form.

The landscape was Highway 99, rail lines, irrigation water and towns at the agricultural edge.
Central California gives Douglas’s songs much of their heat, humor and street voice. This is not borrowed metropolitan mythology. It is a lived environment of long roads, modest streets, hardship, spiritual searching and people moving through one another’s lives. That ground meets his enduring fascination with the Amazon, visionary color and the possibility of transformation.
The turning point
Injury changed the direction of the journey.
Douglas has written that a severe ski-patrol injury in 2000 brought his established life to a halt. Recovery became a long encounter with pain, attention and the limits of will. What began as a personal search widened into study: psychology, spiritual psychology, meditation, breathwork, movement and traditions concerned with the relationship between body, mind and spirit.
Study & practice
The storyteller entered the healing room.
He pursued psychology studies at UCLA and later completed graduate study in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica. In time he described a personal synthesis he called RAM Healing—the Radiance Aesthesia Method—and worked in spiritual psychology, transformational coaching and experiential teaching. These practices belong to his biography and philosophy; they are not presented here as medical treatment or as a promise of outcomes.
The Touch
A personal philosophy became a book.
Published in 2016, The Touch: Healing Miracles and Methods brought together Douglas’s account of injury, recovery, attention and compassionate presence. Public programs from that period included talks, book signings and “Awaken Your Inner Healer” workshops. The book remains part memoir, part philosophical record and part invitation to consider the inner resources people bring to moments of change.
Songs for the road
The work kept returning to music.
Douglas’s songbook carries the many voices of the life around it: lovers and outsiders, preachers and wanderers, jokes, confessions, hard streets, strange visions and stubborn hope.

This site is not a monument that freezes Douglas Heyes Jr. in one role. It is a living map of the actor, television writer, producer, author, songwriter, performer, seeker and teacher—and of the roads connecting those lives.
